Thanks Si,Joey, and Old Paint. Too many inside corners to shape/sand. What do you think about rounded ones.

Thanks Cheryl, The pattern for the pointy one is cutting on the plotter as we speak.
Thanks again.

Thanks gail, I'm doing the third one. I haven't determined what color the horse will be painted though. That horse-head is from the Roland Vector Art website as are the flourishes. The client has sorrels, paints, chestnuts and palominos. The only thing they specified was to leave the halter on. I think the palomino would look nice against a darker background. What do you think?

Either one of the pointer options ...but I'm with Rich how about a Letter with on common stroke width the "backwards A" is a real turn off to those who know its wrong.
Sounds like you got some good "pointers" here.

I like them all The point that the others make regarding the "a"s seems to me over the top. I look at the "a"s as being a part of the total & symmetrical to boot! And most importantly what does the client think?

I guess I have to be different. I would like to see the pointers on the side gone but leave something on the bottom. There is a lot going on in the sign with all the shpaes. I too would try re-working the "A's". Maybe something simplier. What if you made the "a's" look like bookends? Nice design though.

I would keep the pointers, as they follow through with the more subtle points created by the ends of the recurve shape near the top of the sign. The only thing that jumped out was how the oval with the horse graphic is so close to the main copy. Figure out how to get some negative space in there.
All-in-all, nice shape. Think I may "borrow" that one.

Thanks Pierre,Rich,Rick,Victor,Monte,Don,Laura and Cam.
The "A"s were a solution to a problem. Maybe I should have used more symmetrical ones. I had to incorporate the A's, horse head, main copy and address. I see what you mean about the stroke width but I found that after distorting these particular ones to follow the contours of the elipse, they almost (to me) took on anthropomorphic attributes.(The man and wife's names start with A) What do you think? Corny huh? What would have been another way to incorporate the A's into the layout? Anyway, the customer loves it and the redwood is already cut out so I can only make minor modifications now. I'm going to try bobbing off the bottom of that elipse though. Cam, you're welcome to use that shape. All I did was to basically follow the silhouette of the copy. Thanks for the help.

I agree about going with the pointy ones. I don't think Wayne can take the horse up more than just a tad Cam. To my mind the double A's are part and parcel of that graphic, and there is negative space between them and 'Double A Farm. I don't think you should have more negative space between elements within the sign than you have around the edges.

Wayne, Only one thing jumped at me. I would increase the size of the A's on the side to at least 50%, so it becomes more a part of the primary copy. The bookend appearance got me a little to, but I adapted to it pretty quickly as "ok/tricky". Adding a third color could also give in a whole new feel. Overall, a nice design. Bronzeo...

I think you've come up with a pretty fair compromise there Wayne. The flat on the oval has the feel of a horseshoe now as well.I think i'd go with that.
