Hi there,

Was asked to price out a job requiring 300 magnet signs 3" X 6" in sign size with 3 lines 3/4" lettering written in blue vinyle. How much would you charge for this. I was thinking some where around $7.50 to $10.00 each. Any one in this Area of Ontario or Michigan with a thought.
Steve

We're not in the area you're askin about
but I wish I could get that kind of money for printing. It ain't gonna happen.
You can buy pre-cut sheets 12"x18" magnetic material. Step& repeat for a 12-up for that size. You're talkin maybe on the outside about $250.00 That includes you cutting a ruby on your plotter, weeding time. And sending it out to a screenprinter. Not sure what your prices on material would beso didn't figure that in. But 12-up on a sheet devided by 300 is only 25 prints. Thats a minimum order in any print shop. Better yet even if the printer can do an edge pos. for you.
Thats a start anyway.

I ran the numbers through my "Quoter" software using the GERBER EDGE with Auto-Mag and one color copy. It came up with $3.90 per piece Retail and 2.73 Wholesale. I don't have complete faith in the soft ware, but it's probably pretty close.
Good Luck!

Assuming all of the text was identical, I would screenprint them.

Wholesale> 300 @ $0.80 each.
Retail> 300 @ $1.12 each.

This includes the magnetic material @ screen.

Steve..I'm sorta in your area..if you want to do it in vinyl..make sure you use an "easy weeding" letterstyle...no serifs!

300 of those would be a LONG BORING day..even with an easy weeding letterstyle.

I would suggest about $3.00 each (Canadian funds here folks)

$900 gross (about $700-750 net) for a boring day's work is still not bad.

Oh yeah..cut the magnetic AND the lettering in "sheets" so you cut down on the application time too. ( more time at the end of the boring day to enjoy the beer you bought with part of the profits!)

ALSO Steve..if ya get the job at $7.50/ea give me a call..I'll do the complete job fer ya at $3.00/ea. AND I'll drive up to Wroxeter and deliver them to you..(YOU buy the beer!!! LOL )
