I'm new to the business and I amm interested in what you would charge dofor some window lettering. and what type of vinyl you would use on the project
Simple logo minimal weeding about 12" square White vinyl on windows also decals of the same thing about 4" - 6" in size about 100 of them.
I only have single color plotter abilities but I woulb be interested to see how the price would compare to printed decals

It depends. Prices are going to vary from region to region. I never sell a job by the square foot or do "lettering by the pound."
If you really want to know what you should charge, may I suggest going to www.ampweb.com/estimate and downloading a free fully functioning demo pricing software program. I own the pro version and have found it worth every penny.
We should all be in this business to make money, not see how cheap we can be.

In addition to Glenn's favorite estimator, and it is a good one, there are one or two others on the merchants page that deserve a look-see.
If they all break your bank, then at least get a copy of the Signwriter's pricing guide from your local supply house or directly from Signwriters. The vinyl cutting page works pretty well on small jobs. Like all "one size fits all" books, you have to calibrate the book up or down to your area of the country.
Computer estimators work better because they can handle more variables before giving you a price.
You have to think about estimators the same way you sell signs to your customers, ie, how much does the software have to save you, or make for you, to recover $500?
If your first year goal is $75,000 in sales, that is $1500 a week, 50 weeks. Won't take long to recover $500 if you are new at this.
Have fun! Vic G
