Any of you Public Radio fans out there have heard "Prairie Home Companion" with Garrison Keillior live from the Fitzgerald Theater in Beautiful Downtown St. Paul Minnesota.....If ya listened this past Saturday you would have heard some Great Scottish Music! My wife and 11 year old drove up to St.Paul to drop off a sign then bought some scalpers tickets ($20.00 a piece..normally $18.00) and went to see the show! It was GREAT! The sound effects were fun to watch and the theater is First Class! It had it's usual wit and entertainment....I can't wait for our next journey to the "Capitol City!"
This saturday is the annual "Talent from Towns under 2000", and that's always a good show as well! Mike Boone..eat your heart out!

Well that's the news from Lake Wobegon, where the
Men are good looking, the women are hard working and the children are above average!

Seeing the performance almost de-mystified it for me, but not quite. We saw PHC long ago at the San Francisco Opera House.

Have you been a long time listener? We were listening back in the early 80's when the wit and humor of Keillors monologues seemed alot keener. I personally get dismayed with the stooping to sleezy inuendo presented in the current format. (She slinked in wearing a dress so tight you could read the label on the....)

Wish you could have enjoyed it with your family.

Rick, I've only started to listen a few years ago....maybe 3, so I am not bothered by anything he says, even if I knew the old stuff. My family DID enjoy PHC. My wife and son were with me. I like the Minnesota Humor Kellior interjects. It is right on the money. I don't know about California style living but the ficticious "Lake Wobegon" is alive and well here in Minnesota. The names are changed to avoid conflict. I enjoy it very much. Do you still listen or do you boycott it?

Mike I'm a long time fan of PHC!!! First listened while camping up in the Sierra's back in the early 80's.
I only wish I could get it on the house radio, but reception is bad in Benicia.
I am so envious of you seeing it live AND hearing the Scottish music too!!!! That's my favorite!! I love when they have Jean Redpath on.
I once waited three hours in Tower books to meet Garrison K. and get his autograph, it was worth it, he was the nicest man, and took time to visit with everyone who waited.
A
