will the search never end? i was looking into Vinyl Express "apprentice" and now see that SignWareHouse sells something called "Go Cut" which seems to do the same as MagiSign - a pallate within Illustrator that drives the cutter.
so, does anybody here have experience with either product? (the SignPost people seem happy with that software, but i haven't heard anybody who's happily using anything else).

I use CoCut that bridges with Corel and now with Adobe. No problems, use it with all my cutting. CoCut is Global and offers on line support and a user BB. GoCut is not CoCut, my advice is purchase what will support you when a problem arises...and it will!

Hi, Scooter, Co-Cut is part of a program put out by Smart Designs, and is an add-on to CorelDraw. I have Smart- Designer8 which includes Co-Cut added on to Corel 8. My problem was that I added it at the same time that I went from Corel 5 up to 8. The learning curve from 5 to 8 was a real bear, and having all those extra tools on a too small monitor was more than I wanted to deal with. I think it is a very good program, and would probably work well if I took the time to learn it. As it is, I use Signlab 5, and that works real well. None of these programs is inexpensive, so pick what you think will work for you. If you go with Co-Cut tho' you need a lot of familiarity with Corel. There are all kinds of cutting programs out there, and most are probably good-- otherwise they wouldn't be around for long. Good luck whatever you decide.
