I went to a SENERGY® (which is another brand of Dryvit)dealer yesterday to see about cost, colors etc. They said the only way I could obtain it or use it is if I went to one of their seminars and became licensed. The seminars are free, but he said the chances of getting in to one are slim because they limit the number of people to just a few. This supplier used to carry Dryvit® brand and said they too had a licensing program. Have any of you heads run into this same problem, and how did you get around it. Or did you. just wondering.

I've used Dryvit without taking their course. I did take the course offered by Sto (a similar product) The course is a no brainer,, just to familiarize folks who don't take time to read directions.
If you are doing signs with the stuff, let them know what you are doing- bring in your sketches. They are worried about improper installations and possible reprocussions that an improper instalation can have on them and their product.
Make sure you let them know you aren't doing a housing project but a sign.
Also let them know of your vast experience. At least fake it well.
Have fun!

Menards home center stores use to carry the "knock off" version of Drivit. Now I can't seem to find it there.
I make signs for a company that uses Drivit all the time (thats what they do), and I asked them how I could get a hold of some to use on a sign.
They basically told me to butt out, although they would be happy to apply the Drivit over any sign creation I made. I figure they are probably right for now and its less hassel for me anyway to just let them do it. I would really like to learn the how and why for myself though.
