I had a customer in today that wants to sell, beauty products for horses! Like haircolour for tails and manes, and glitter, and "nailpolish" for horses hooves. Sounds like a chapter out of some Hollywood story to me. Anyway I have to come up with a logo for a horse trailer and chevy van as well as whatever else. She left a film here and asked me to check out the begining as she thought about a centaur or pegasus like on the Tri-Star pictures filmlogo.
I am abit stumped here.....I have been looking up on the net for horse beauty products but it seems that she is alone with this....any ideas or any horseminded letterheads come across this before....most of this kind of stuff starts in the US and spreads over here!

Did you ever see a product called "My Little Pony?" Twas a cartoony toy for very little girls who liked to comb the main and put barretes in their hair. You could make a logo with that kinda feel to it...a "Miss Piggy" of horses...all dolled up. She may want something more serious, but with her product line, it's not as much a risk to try this idea as it would be for something else.
Hair and nails $???.00 Bridle $???.00 Teeth Cleaned $???.00 The Look on Henry Barker's face when the customer loves the job Priceless!
Just a thought...
Yer right...it's a toughy! Hahaha!
Yes, I tend to go to extremes during the design process, but usually it sparks a, "No, actually I was going for...(the light bulb kicks in)"
Good Luck!

People who are into showing horses, whether it's beauty contests or performance contests, always "groom" their horses for the occasion... There is horse shampoo, that caught on as people shampoo, from the Jojoba plant. Hoof dressing seals moisture in hooves to help prevent cracks. People have always used hair care products on manes and tails, because these are the "beauty marks" of the horse kingdom. So think about elegance and beauty when you're designing this... that's what horse owners have in mind when they use the products. LE

The only "mythical" horse-like creature that I can think of would be a Unicorn...supposedly quite lovely. Maybe you could do something with that as a starting point. You've got a tough one there Henry.

Some days you get to be the dog....other days, you get to be the fire hydrant.
It's not just those 'girl' horses that they like to spiff up...my husband used to work on a horse breeding ranch & they had a product that was used to keep the stallions "equipment" clean. The name of it: Excaliber Sheath Cleaner. Imagine the logo for that!

One of my alltime favorites, "FANTASIA" by Disney.... the ponies have all the garb for the mating game, just get ready for the technicolor and classical animation of its own. You're in for a real treat! Don't miss it, check it out, Henry! but don't take my word for it, I am hooked on Disney, animation and classical music! Deb

I would take a cartoon approach to the logo - like a really ugly "before" (almost like Bill-the-cat, but a horse) and a very sleek "after". A good slogan would go a long way also. There's a cool webpage with some mystical horses on it, if you can find 'em. virtualparadox.com

I bought a piece in Mexico, Chiapas to be exact. The artist finished it while we were talking. Its simple white on black. the hores muscles for very interesting pattern and the main if flowing and full. Lots of dry brush strokes. Try something similar.
