customer wants to have a couple of standard aluminum offic doors done. He wants them TIMTED and lettered...the lettering is no prob, but the TINT is where my questions lie.... what is this worth? What is a good source for tint material? What would you charge just for the tinting? 2 3x7 (approx) door........
where can I find the best material?
Thx, Barry

Tints? I don't know about in the States but here you can buy it off any sound center. Anywhere from $5-8 bucks for a 20" x 5' roll. I know 3M sells a wider roll, but wouldn't know who distributes it. If you can work with the 20 incher, Sun Gard brand is the best. (after 3M, of course, IMHO) There's this other kind, Sun SHADE...no go if you asked me. too thin to work with & fades quick.

Hi Barry. Price the lettering as you normally would, then call up a window tinter, get some samples and prices from them to do a tint right over top of your lettering. Mark-up his price if you wish, and make a few bucks off his end as well.
Auto detailers often offer window tinting as a part of their service, as well as auto glass replacement shops.
That way, you're doing what you know best, and they're also handling the area that they're most comfortable & familair with too. This should work out well for both of you.
