I don't have any problem with Netscape. The problem I have is with the Letterhead Bullboard. Whenever I click on "Letterhead and Pinhead Talk" everything seems to just stop. It takes what seems like forever for the next screen to load. Is this because of all the ad buttons and animations on this bull board? This problem doesn't seem to occur with any other web page, just this one.
It's not the "end of the world", just aggrevating as heck!

Roy, that could be a slow internet connection. Mine says I'm hooked up at 46667bps right now, sometimes 43000 sometimes 49000. Sometimes its faster at 43000. How many days worth of posts are you set on. Mine is set to 5 and it takes 30 or 45 seconds to load up (sometimes a little longer) I use Explorer 5 though. Tried Netscape once, but like IE5 better. Just what you get used to I guess.

I don't have anything new to add here. I use IE and Barb prefers Netscape. Lately she says she is getting more frustrated with Netscape too.
This website is very busy. Traffic to this BullBoard has almost doubled in the last 3 months alone. Over 2,000 people are visiting this BB everyday.
The traffic is wonderful news to all of us but our server. They claim we are really hogging their resources and are strongly urging that we invest in a server of our own. This remains our goal, but the cost of doing this is still beyond our reach. It's not just the cost of the server. You have to have someone set it up and administer it on a fulltime basis.

Netscape just gives me fits sometimes! Very frustrating lately. I like it better than IE though, because of the ez access to my email, and also, I just like the look and feel of it better. But I have been giving it some thought lately of changing ... Wish Netscape would fly right!

I've prefered the look and feel of Netscape, but with so many recent problems I started mixing in some IE use. The IE works fine, just doesn't look as nice to me layout wise. I tried using the new Netscape too. It seems to be a nightmare, and I find it ugly too. So, Nettie, we need you to design a new look for IE and we'll get a hot sales person to present it. Then with all the revenue, we can buy the new server that Shortreed needs. Don't you like the way I say WE?

I too like the look and feel of Netscape but I gave up on it with this site. Netscape would not load any of the topics, just the ads and background. And Mike Jackson's site used to crash my Netscape all the time. Its just certain web pages. So I gave up and use IE for this site and a few others.
Just more evidence pointing toward the rumor that Microsoft web page writing software has things in it to screw up Netscape. With so many links in this site its very possible some of them were written by MS web authoring software.
Wait...would BG do that? Not him! He's an angel, a good ethical business man that everyone is just jealous of because he's the richest man in the world. And by the way...I have some OCEAN front property for sale here in Michigan.

If netscape opens ok for you and you just cant connect to send mail it is your mail server is down, not netscape. Or is it locking the browser up and causing you to have to reboot to escape? Sometimes a reinstall will fix things. Also a bad font or messed up font folder can mess up netscape as well as other programs.
I also prefer netscape but it tends to lock up on me. Recently in major effort to free resources I have removed all the stuff that runs in the background on my computer and I have found that using ICQ made big problems with the browser locking. It rarely locks now without ICQ. I use aol messenger now, its smaller and faster to talk with someone on. BTW I go by signpunk on instant messenger.
Ive also tried different version Netscapes and find that 6 and 7.2 are the best.
I have had programmers tell me that MS definately puts things in that mess with netscape. I have disabled IE from being my default browser and keep netscape as default. This helps too.

The last time I had problems with a netscape upgrade I went to netscape's site & clicked on the support & troubleshooting links.Once there I found all the links to proper patches & mickeysoft upgrades to make it work great! The problem with netscape is not netscape but Billy Gates' attempt to make internet explorer the only fully functioning browser in his operating system. The links to the proper patches on microsoft.com are at the netscape site 'cause gates ain't gonna advertise them on his site.Seems to me they wanna break up mickeysoft & make us taxpayers pay Mr Gates for half of what he already owns, just to keep him & mickeysoft from adding to this sort of problem.

I went to Netscape and searched for support and troubleshooting till i was blue in the face and couldnt find it. Where the heck is it, they hide it as well as MS does.
