Several weeks ago I lettered a banner on both sides. Same text. Had no problems with it. I ordered the banner fitting those specs. Wt. type, etc.

I'm doing 2 banners today, diff. customer, with vinyl lettering on both sides. Front side did as usuall. On the back side, the vinyl wants to pull up with the app. tape. Have also cleaned the back side with 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner, then alcohol. Some letters stick real good, some don't.

Any suggestions as to what the prob. may be?
Banner supplier has no clue. Says it's the same material they sent me 3 wks. ago.

If I ever get all the lettering on the banners, should I hang them outside in the sun, to help adhersion? it finally came out. The sun that is.

Thanks

John

In the past if the back side of the banner has some texture to it I have had to heat it up with a heat gun and the rolled the devil out of it with a laminate roller to get the vinyl to stick well enough for me to feel good about it going out of the shop. If you don't have one of the laminate rollers you can pick one up for under $15.00 at your local home supply store ie: Home Depot or Lowes.

John,

Did you order regular banner material or the double-faced banner material?

Sounds to me like you ordered one sided banner material, a mistake I have made before. The vinyl will stick with a heat gun and some patience but the vinyl also has a better chance of coming off depending on the weather conditions. Next time request a double sided banner if you have to do two sides of lettering.

I ordered the double faced banner mat. but i don't think that is what i got. Of cource they said that is what they sent me. Had no problem with the one we did 3 wks ago.

I think I'm gonna look for a dif. supplier. That's 3 of the last 4 banner orders that they have meesed up. I'm sorta getting tired of it. You got any recomendations Glenn, since you are sorta in my area?

I finally got all the vinyl installed. Never want to do that again if i can help it. Now I'm wondering what it's gonna do for the customer. I'm gonna put them in the sun tom, hopefully to get the vinyl to set some more. If the wind don't blow them away.

Thanks for the replys so fast people. This is the best place i have ever seen to get answers for anything so fast. Doesen't have to be sign related either. Just a great group of hard working people.

Thanks again

John
