Hiya 'Heads, Been using this set-up for a few months now & it works really well for me. Applying 24" tape in lengths of 8' or more is a breeze. I made it from standard tools I use every day, so it really shouldn't cost anything. If anyone would know where I could get another squeegee similar to the one seen in the bottom right of the picture, please let me know. I could use a few more of them. Havin' fun, Checkers

Nice bit of creative tool use, looks like it all comes from Costco. The squeegee you use is bigger than one I have and mine is for silk screening. I got it at Product Sign Supply in San Jose CA. I am sure you can source it closer.

The squeege that comes with the Weber Made is available in almost any paint store. It is a wallpapering tool. I have the 12 inch that came with my Weber, and bought a 23 inch that comes in handy for a variety of uses.

I can't tell from the picture, but it doesn't look like you have anything in the centers of the transfer tape roll. Usually when you buy a 48" log, they come with the two black plastic ends. Those slide onto the dowl perfect and make the tape spin perfectly instead of bouncing.
Just a suggestion.

Bruce, I'm pretty sure that he needs the backdrag of the hanging roll, to hold the transfer tape from falling into the vinyl prematurely, as it would if it turned freely. Of course you could create a drag in another way I guess.

If you have a local 3-M dealer then talk to them about this new squeegee you can buy that looks very much like the one you are showing..But the beauty of it is you can cut to length.I believe it comes in 24" so you can cut to 2 12" or a 12" and to 6" etc etc
