We've done quite a lot of laminating. I've used RT40 tape, latex contact cement, solvent based contact cement and 3m Spray 90. We're starting work on a sign job full of laminate work. Any tips or web resources for working with this material would be much appreciated. There is a lot of edge laminating too. We are using Formica and Pionite Brand laminants. Cheers,

Here's a strange one for you, Duncan......Precision Board's eurethane adhesive. Those familiar with it know it creates a bond stronger than PB itself. We had a mishap ocurr when some of the PB adhesive dripped on the edge of a stack of substrates aginst the wall. The squeegee used to coat the PB edges was set on a piece of carrier paper on top of this edgeways stack. PB adhesive EXPANDS! It leaked between a sheet of mdo and 1/4" acrylic. IT BONDED! We broke the acrylic trying to separate them. That started a series of tests with this stuff. We have not found anything to date that it will not laminate. And I mean REALLY laminate. I used it to bond/laminate an oval, 8' high and 12' long, 4" thick to an overlapping MDO 3/4" backing. This, of course, was one of two carvings for Mission Bay in Polson Montana. Six of us were able to manhandle this heavy monster onto the flatbed truck. No strongbacks used at that point. The 4" angleiron strongbacks were added on site. Point being, the adhesive created a strong enough bond to prevent any flexing of the large piece. No screws, by the way..............
