I've used PVC as a resist for sand blasting other things,as it is realitively resistant to the sand. It does eat away after a while so you might be able to blast it with a good "Buttercut"resist...however you would almost certainly have problems with warpage(due to the heat buildup from the sand blasting) so I could imagine that it would be a long and slow process even with a medium grade (brown sand)because you would need to stay a long way from your work and be on the move constanlty to achieve any integrity in depth and finish.
