Over the years I have been ask What it takes to be a quality Mechanic,,, Other then the obvious ,,, practice, practice and more practice,,, for the brush puller,,,,and"" for the intire trade there is three words that sum it up...
""Attention to Detail"".. simple as that,, yet this is where we see so many signs Fail''''...
You can Letter perfect, ,,``but the line is Off Center"" Or you fail to use a square and the copy is heading south,, but letter precisely,,
Yes. there is color blending, Spacing and a host of other Understandings""" but what's the worth of this when you failed to, consider the traffic speed, or the setting sun,,,,, or the delivery van that is park in front of the sign 18 hours a day....
Become a professional, and see from all the windows,,, not''' just the one that views the Bank building....
Sell in the best interest of your customer,,, this will reflect, back to you ...
After 30 years in this trade ,,the one thing that still requires me to think,,, IS ,, ""Attention to Detail""" for without that '' I am nothing more than a Highly paid, Highly skilled,,, HACK....Twain,TBuk.

Back in the ol'dayz...a "mechanic" was a journeyman, who could do most any job in the sign biz...EXCEPT design and layout! A mecanic's work (lettering and guilding) was beautifully done..but...if he did a design or layout...it looked like the worst "nephew art"!
Hehehehee...yup! I do go back that far!
