I saw a post or posts praising RAPID TAC. I used it 5 or 6 years ago when I worked in California. The last post I saw mentioned how cheap it is and how long a gallon jug lasts. At my present job, we use ( o.k., I'm gonna use a bad phrase) SOAP AND WATER. The reason for that is that we use a sh--load of it...at least 15-25 litres a day among the 5 appliers in our shop. We do all translucent application from a sign 5" X 5" to flex faced signs 7' X 60'. Can/should I add water to RAPID TAC? How can we use RAPID TAC without going through 3 gallons a day? 3 gallons a day can't be cheap. I am opened minded and not shunning RAPID TAC. I think we're ready for it if it doesn't break us with the amount of liquid we go through. Comments???? Suggestions???? Bring 'em on!

Corey for your application what your using probably works great. Rapid Tac is exactly that "rapid tack" We've used both before and for the large panels it just sticks to darn quick. It is indeed a good product and has saved us a lot of time in cold weather apps on window decals etc. but soapy water works for me, especially when cutting copy after the panel is already coated it makes it easier to get up the vinyl.

If you looked at the back of vinyl through a microscope you would see the glue staged in bubbles. Unlike soap and water Rapid Tac will agressively attack all these bubbles and open them so application will be precise where as a plain soap and water solution will not. Rapid Tac II is more of a positioning application fluid which may give you more time before it dries but also attacks these bubbles.
If you follow the directions to the letter using cheap paper towels etc. you will find less hassles and better adhesion.
now my suggestion to you is to get a quart of Basic H concentrate from your nearest SHAKLEE supplier, and go to town!!!
add a teaspoon of that concentrate to a GALLON of water and you will have a app solution that works as well, and FASTER than Rapid tac.
The quart of concentrate retails at near 10 bucks--you do the math.... how many teaspoons are there in a $10 quart? www.shaklee.com for the nearest supplier in your area. Barry

Hey, Corey..........I don't know what I could add to this. A few of the posts were correct anyway. Did the answers disappoint you? We do use the stuff for some applications without problems. I'm not sure what you're looking to do other than what you're already doing. Did I miss something?
