I went out to the desert last weekend and here is this old guy, Leonard Knight, who lives in an old White fire truck and has been painting this hill side for the past 16 years. He's a sort of Slab City local celebrity. I can pass on his religious sentiment, ( he has one or two passages, misspelled and repeated in about 100 places on his hill, his truck, on the ground, etc.) but by golly, I gotta hand it to him for perseverance - the state, county, AQMD, and everybody else has been trying to throw a monkey wrench into his operation for all that time and he just paints away with a smile on his old face. I took him a dozen gallons of weird colors to throw at his hill. That's him standing on top by the cross. A wannabe wall dog. He could use some letter form instruction...
