Customer called and wants vinyl graphics on a mailbox. He spraypainted it but I don't know what paint he used and havn't seen it yet. My question is, after applying the graphics, what would you suggest for clearcoating it and where would I get it? Thanks Wayne

Why? I spray painted our big old ugly box (that was given to hubby several years ago) with Krylon, right over the dirt, dents, rust and stuck on hardware store letters. Then I stuck on my high perf vinyl, no clear.
Been up there and ok since summer 1997. But now I gotta go out there and peel it all off, since our county decided we all needed real street addresses, instead of route & box #s, for E911. Oh well.

The reason I ask is cuz the client asked about clear coating it. But then again, this customer is one of the reasons I don't sandblast metal anymore PERIOD. Not even for my mother! hehe People ask, not infrequently, but I politely decline. While I'm on this.... Never mind.... lotta work, long story.

you don't need to clear high preformance vinyl on a painted surface, especially if you don't know the paint. that's a can of worms if you do it.
