Steve & Barb left today for Stef's. I think I wore them out! But it worked both way's - I have no voice left. I must say I've seen things in my neck of the woods I never knew existed. We travelled "unknown" territory and came upon the most amazing things. We dropped into the town of Volcano to meet Rosie, the town greeter and a good friend of mine. She's 65 yrs. old, but with the mind of an 11 yr. old. She was born & raised here, buys the kids gum, and would give the shirt off your back if'n ya ever needed it! I find her quite refreshing every time I visit her. She warmed up to Steve & Barb, especially Steve, and pointed out the "sites" of Volcano. Hopefully, Steve will be able to post some pics once he's settled back home. Another local at the "Liar's Bench" in front of the Country Store, gave Steve some invaluable info on a local guy with some Von Dutch originals. The next day we located this quiet gentleman in his auto shop, and as we looked around, Stevo couldn't stop clicking away! Von Dutch's own leather jacket and knives, a gas tank by Von Dutch, memorablia everywhere, Ratfink original art, Von Franco originals, and . . . peeking under a tarp, just what did we find? "77 Sunset Strips" one and only roadster that Ed "Kookie" burns drove in the show!!!!! Treasures, treasures everywhere. Sadly, as Steve tried to look at the pics today, he discovered something was wrong with his camera & all this pics failed. But not to worry - we got in touch with John again and he's agreed to let me come down for another photo shoot soon. We met some local proprietors of Sign shops and talked turkey everywhere we went. You may see some new members soon - Hopefully Jackson Signs and Ralph Merzlaks son - who will soon be 4th generation in the sign trade - the Great Grandad used to do show signs for Hollywood back in the 30's. Off to the Chew Kee store in Fiddletown and more history lessons. Chew Kee was a Chinese herblist in 1850's when Fiddletown was full of Chinese searching for gold. He left his son there in 1917 as he was too frail to travel abroad. The son died in 1965, all the while leaving everything just as it was, and still is! Fiddletown refuses to give the site over to the State for fear of artifacts being transported to other museums. It was just like walking back in time! Then a nice drive through the mountains and fording a creek to get home. Sadly all the gold mines were closed - but next time, Steve & Barb! I'm sad to see them leave, but have such great memories, and some new friends in the area. I hope Stef gives them a break and let's them rest up for Percell's and more adventures West. Steve & Barb - thanks for the wonderful memories!!!! You're in my heart forever. Bomba-Dear

You know what Jackie, because of YOU and this web site (thanks to the dynamic duo) all this was possible. I know lot of people don't understand how deep this site is. But that's why I went back. You see I remember how I got started in my traveling cross country. You was my first stop, your hospitality, and meeting your family. I knew you was good people. Now a few years later you set it up for the Steve and Barb to come to our state from the other side of the country. I had already had saw them at the Conclave and could of just passed it as, "ok I met them, big deal" but no, I had a sign job to complete, and could not promise to be at your home, but thanks to the weather, I wanted to be there! I wanted to at least let them know I had respect for them and their web site, which played a major role in my journey. Most people always have excuses they can not go anywhere because of weather, as you know it was RAINING, I wasn't going to let a little falling water stop me. I wanted to kick it with all of yous that was at your home. and it was fun.
Stef, the shining side of the Moon, is a good woman, a lady with a heart of gold and a smile thats goes with it. Crazy Jack (well we all know he's crazy but we love him) I was happy to see him there. Victor is a cool guy I enjoyed talking with him.
But Steve and Barb I have to hand it to them, they are soul mates! I really enjoyed gettin heavy with them, even though it was a short while. It will always be a rememberable one. I hope they enjoyed part of my videos. Sorry I couldn't get Nettie on, but I think Ted gave them a flashback. Your daughter Jennifer and friend, gave a great show of how to put on make-up, YIKES!
Oh yeah I had the pleasure to meet Rosie in Volcano, she asked me to take her picture. Rosie asked me if it was ok, to take a shot of her by the new plaque that was put up by the river? I said "sure, no problem" I didn't know who she was till Pat told me about her. I will take my film in tomorrow, I will post it here later. well hope you know Jackie, Your still the BOMB! Love you sister...Cisco

Hey Ron - my Hubby got nervous as I mentioned the "Great Volcano Blast", asking if this means we have to do this every year! Hmmmm . . . Not a bad idea! We just may have started something here - perhaps a summer Calif. meet when it's warm enough to camp-out in the large backyard. If the development of the 40 acres behind us falls thru, which I think it will, we could take over the whole area! You got my wheels turnin'. And Cisco - dear Bro', what can I say. Letterheads are a very, very special breed. You're Tops! Thanks for the kudo's, but it really took all of us together to make it great! PS - If I can figure it out, I'll post some pics. Need to find a pic posting site first. The Bomb aka Domba-Dear (now, will you guys stop? I got too many nicks!)
