My wife & I were just in a Mardi Gras parade on a truck that was carrying a political candidate. They decorated the trailer with their 4'x8' coroplast signs and they also had the 18"x24" ones as well. I asked them who did'em and how much and he told me for the 4'x8's (screened,2 color on white, one side, not much text) $27.00! a peice! I think he may have been talking about the 18"x24"s (they were vinyl,2 color, both sides)
Whatdaya think? Sounds like someone's trying to go bankrupt in a hurry with those prices. Am I wrong?
Thanks! Tony B

It probably IS right. Political Signs are usually mass-produced by silk screening, which, though related to signs, has a somewhat different costing structure than hand painted signs. Their labour costs are usually significantly lower, and the art is usually already supplied. They simply duplicate what they're provided, but in much larger quantities. The average sign shop that hasn't the silk screening equipment usually can't be competitive when pricing against a well equipped screen printer.
