Well...I just blew it today...i guess I was looking for work(it's kinda LEEEEEAN), and the competitors who are hand painters (NOT signpainters, ya know?) have been swiping more than usual out from under me....they all do 4X8's for 150-175.00.....I am doing two REALLY simple for 448.00 plus tax....no delivery no install....no art charge no friggin rush charge....man I feel like an idiot sometimes!!
Looking back I am ashamed of myself...but what do you do when the public is not discriminating and you got kiddos to feed?
sigh.....

I must be missing something here. In doing the math, 2 4x8's total 64 Sq.Ft. - 32 sq ft per panel. How do you get more sq. ft. of vinyl than both panels combined?
Are you covering raw panels with vinyl?? Why not use a couple of pre-painted panels and simply apply the cut letters to it? That would drastically reduce the sq. footage of vinyl required, and result in a profitable job as well. If these signs are not likley to be up for more than 2 years, you might even consider using an intermediate grade. If the property hasn't moved in 2 years, it's not likley to sell at all. The pre-painted MDO with intermediate grade would certainly last 2 years.
Just a suggestion...hope it helps.

I just finished one 4'x8' for a client just as you described.
$ 380.00 picked up.
Prices differ in other economic areas but fortunately, this client knows the VALUE of good signage.
Good Luck
