Today, we all lost a great hero. For those of you that are involved in lettering for the Earnhardt Racing Team, our deepest regards.
I lost a dear friend, a race car driver, whose cars I lettered, and who raced in the ARCA circuit, and who died in a race in Taladaga. I was devestated by the loss.
This loss is just incredible and difficult to understand for all of us. Our deepest sympathy and regards to the Earnhardt Family and all those who are directly related!

I was not an Earnhardt Fan, but it is sad. He was a big part of Nascar, but most of all he was a father, son, husband, friend, and a human. He will be missed....

The hard part is gonna be for his family & crew next week at the track, ya know it's gotta be tough to lose a loved one, then get bombarded by the media.I wish they didn't have those in car cameras sometimes,...

I'm not a racing fan, but Dale Earnhardt was a nice guy. I've seen him on tv before, and he was always very personable. Very saddening that he is gone. The accident early in the race was much worser than the one he was in, and the driver wasn't hurt very bad. God bless him and his family.

My family and I were big "E" fans and are very sad due to the accident today. All of our prayers and thoughts are with the family and crew. I will never look at NASCAR the same now that he is gone. It just shows, we never know when it will be our last day on this great earth. God bless.

To tell you the truth Dave. I never knew who Dale Earnhardt was until I met Pat King in later part of 1998, from McCalla, Alamamba aka:P-King. Pat and Ma took me to a flea market in the hills, a place called Tanneville. This was a Historical Park, the Confederates used to make cannon balls in these hidden hills. Sorry to jump track here, but while strolling thru the flea market I kept seeing t-shirts, posters, plaques, belt buckels, clocks, etc...of this dude in a race suit with shades on, so I asked Pking who's this dude Dale? He told me about him, to long to explain his history, but I will say I'm sorry to hear of his lost. May he race in peace...Cisco

Although I don't personally follow racecar driving, I'm currently lettering a helmut for a customer in honor of a deceased hero of his. He took great pains to reproduce his hero's helmut's paint job and has provided me with books upon books for reference of the decals. This is one tricky job. I have to make decals look straight on a round helmut following the paint lines.
My customer upon our first meeting, cracked open a book, showing me pictures of the racecar driver's family and alot of history. Someone I didn't know sharing something that meant so much to him. My heart went out to both of them!
Anyway, I can now relate to what you guys are feeling. I see pain in my customers' eyes everytime we meet and discuss his helmut.
He put in your heart certain wishes and plans, in my heart he put other and different desires. Each man is good in his sight. It is not necessary for eagles to be crows.---Sitting Bull
