Have ya ever had trouble spelling certain words??
I read a couple of message boards on the net and have noticed that some words seem to be consistently hard to spell.
I'll start my list with vacume, tounge, Carribean and sattelite. LOL (seriously, know they are mis-spelled but even if I get lucky and spell em right they still look wrong!!!)
Anyone else have favourites?? (or is that favorites???) hahahaha
Of course being Canadian there are the colour/color..cheque/check... differences between Canadian and U.S. spellings. I'm thinking about those simple everyday words that are so tough to spell right.

I always have trouble with apparently or is it appearently or is there only one p? I ferget about library, february and wed-nes-day and teusday or tuesday? I like to spell werds wrong on purpose to hopefully, (see, is that 2 ll's?) distract from the real stupidity of not keepin' a dictionary right beside the computer. ...an' what's up with that orderves word...hor's d'voures or whatever that fancy word is for olives an' cheese on a toothpick.
I have no idea why I spell colour that way or why it is a "grey" day outside.
why do some "'ett" words have an "e" on the end and some don't?
"I can barely bear to bare the bear" That's not a sentence I will use everyday but it is grammatically correct . . .is grammatically 2 m's and/or 2ll's . . or is it even a word?
What's up with that word "loo"? Ain't that an english toilet? So what is that song "skip to the loo my darlin'" about?
I know you gotta let people know if you're comin' the the party or not, but to me, you are ridin' in high cotton if you know what "R.S.V.P." stands for exactly.

Sheila, the aussie answer for RSVP is "Reply So Very Promptly" ! The one word that gets me is Mystrey, but the rest of the world spells it mystery, but they pronounce it mystrey.
I used to know a poem called "Ough- a Phonetic Fantasy" that went: The baker man was kneading dough, And whistling, softly, sweet and lough, And yet, ever anon he'd cough, As though his head was coming ough! Then there are a few more verses or line which I can't remember, ending with: "And I'd rather drive", said he,"a plough", "Than be a baker anyhough!"
best wishes

I'm 'familure'(familiar)with this hear spelling delima, or is that delimma? Congradulations or congratulations? What is that read sauce ya put on yer french fries? Catsup, Katsup, Ketchup? What about boloney or bologna? It's a minute detail that'll take a minute (60 seconds) to sink in. Then, will I be in sync? Don't know why, but I always want to spell yacht, like this: Yaucht, neither looks right to me... Never understood the pronounciation of XeroX or XanaX. Something else; is it a porch, patio or a lanai? Couch, sofa or davenport? Oh phooey!
