I'm trying to find a good copy of the Indianapolis speedway "wing" logo. I can find jpg graphics on the web, but not good clean artwork that I can scan and trace.
Does anyone have an idea where I can find this?

One good place to look for good images, which I believe alot of us digitally dependent artists (and I include myself in that club ) overlook...is the library. They have books on just about anything and photos, etc that can be scanned at whatever size you need...not just tiny 72ppi images. True, it takes a bit more effort than popping a word or two into a web browser and hitting "search", but it's still one of the best sources for scannable images. Even in the computer age, libraries are still pretty cool places for resource material.
All the libraries I've ever visited have a research department. Chances are good that you can call your local library and THEY'LL look for the image for you and have it waiting for you. Seriously, they enjoy helping!
And besides, we're paying for libraries whether we use them or not. May as well get our monies' worth when we can.
PS. Just a side note on scan and trace. Many times you will have an image too small to work with for tracing at 100%. The simple trick is to scan at 200 to 400% of actual size, while keeping your ppi(pixels per inch) to about 100 to 150. This will give you a scanned image that you can pull in closer to in order to scan, but still keeping the file size low enough that it doesn't slow down your graphics program. I use this technique particularly when digitizing a logo from a customer's business card. Otherwise, when you try to pull in close to see details to trace, you'll get huge pixels that will cause you to have to almost guess where to draw the lines.
Well, startin to ramble, aren't I?
