I'm home briefly from the hospital to pick up some supplies.
My wife, Colleen gave birth to our first baby last night at 8:20. A baby boy we have named Jackson Aaron Whynott. He came out at a whopping 8lbs 9oz and 21" long.
He's perfect!!
He surprised the heck out of Colleen. For no good reason, she was certain she was having a small baby girl. I had even put together a little website for her. Now I'm going to have to redo it to make it suit a boy!
I had planned on boring you with pictures too, but I left my camera at the hospital. I'll upload them tomorrow if we get home.
I'm already learning to cope with very little sleep. The first night, even though he wasn't fussy, he didn't want to sleep. I stayed up all night watching him and occasionally picking him up and walking around the hallways with him.
Okay, that could be the sweetest thing I've ever heard!
Woohoo!!!!! Congratulations on your most fantastic news and welcome to the world Jackson.

Congratulations, Terry and Colleen, on your new little buddy.
My buddy, my grandson, will be spending the night with us tonight. We bought a crib and car seat for the occasion--it is like time warping back 28 years!

Congratulations and enjoy. This will easily be your greatest creation - even if your wife had to do all the work. Remember that! For the next nine months it is your turn! It sounds like you have bonded already. Get ready for the best roller coaster ride of your life.

I'm so thrilled for you and Colleen, Terry! I'm so glad everything went well, and I hope Colleen is feeling okay. Jackson weighs exactly what Kaitlin weighed when she was born.
You are going to be a terrific Dad! Can't wait to see the pics!
