My condolences, Dave, on the loss of your father. Sometimes these things hit us harder than we expect, so go ahead and grieve...it'll be good for you in the long run.

My sympathy & condolences go out to you & your family Dave.
I shared the loss of my dad with letterville 2 years ago this month. It's great to have friends, & friends who are like a large family are even better.

Thanks for your messages folks. I'll show this to my mom in a couple of days.
For those of you who had chatted with him on mIRC, I hope he can read your words from heaven. He really enjoyed his computer and it's ability to allow him to chat with folks from all over the world, especially people who also knew me.
Thanks again.

So sorry Dave. I hope your mom can get on her feet soon and I know she'll so appreciate you being there for her and her for you.
My dad passed away close to Father's Day, another difficult time of year.
Today Mike (hubby) came across a car accident in town, went to help the trapped victim in his car, and Mike got his pulse going again. But he passed away in the ambulance. What a tremendous loss.
I pray the Lord blesses you and yours during your time of need. Our condolences for your loss.
The best to you and Shirley.

I am sincerely hoping that you find the peace from God to restore you and nourish your spirit; and also with your Mother. And I am so sorry that you have lost a very dear part of your life. I never had the chance to meet him of course, and I know you will deeply miss him.
Many names and faces I see here that have lost their fathers and mothers, (and loved ones). It deeply moves me how we come together to uphold each other at a time like this. I lost my father also two years ago this Christmas time. And you were there for me, as I was not alone losing my father that time of the year.
At this time of the year is when the true meaning of our Lord Jesus' birth makes sense in which his gift to us was overcoming the sting of death, with a new birth and new life. I am as deeply moved with the promise as the fear and sadness. For this reason, I am comforted also and hope that you allow this gift come into your hearts, as it is yours, and through His blood, we will have everlasting life. Peace be with you at this time and always, Dave. your friend, Deb

I've lost my Dad on the 14th of December, in 1999. Christmas that year was a quiet one, but still one to cherish family and friends, maybe even more. Hoping the same will come true for you. Thanks for sharing.

Dave and Shirley our love and thoughts are with you and your family
I tried to e-mail you but it won't go through, so I hope you will forgive me for writing here instead
it is never easy for anyone to say goodbye, so my personal choice is to say 'see ya later' and know that in my heart they are always there
we go on by cherishing the memories we have and crying for our loss somehow over time the magic works and our tears wash the pain down to a dull ache
having known you Dave for some time now and having had the great joy of meeting both you and Shirley in person I can be certain of one thing, the man who raised you was one of life's true gentlemen, because you wouldn't be the person you are if that were not the case.
