I had to go into my archives to find the poem. here it is. You can change it around to refect your situation!
I also gave this to her from the highest point around here...they are called mole hills(no mountains around Dallas!)
This poem was printed combined with the star certificate and framed!
Enjoy
To my sweet Kathleen..
Dreaming, atop a mountain I beheld the panoply of the sky and blazing worlds of stars strewn as diamonds in blackness...
But among the skybound gems, one particular point of light in white facets of fire out shown all others paling even the moon it seemed...
Longing to reach beyond myself and capture that flame, I stretched past my world and with hands that only dreaming make powerful, I closed my hands around the star, and so doing, shadowed the sky by removing it's most bright heart...
Knowing in that moment that I could never hold with selfish heart that brilliant point, I released the fire from my grasp, for all the world to see shining radiantly as a beacon in the darkness...
For as surely as I see the beauty in that heaven, it was never mine to keep.
Robert and yes....it is an original poem by me!

So, how come you are not writing a song for the SONG PAINTER sign music by sign people music collection?
I'll venture a guess here...but if you can write lyric there are many sign guys who just write the music....and if the two could get together what a wornderful wolrd this would be....full of Letterhead music!
April 1, is the deadline! But, I know there is going to be Sonpainter2. So if you miss the first one....you are not out!

I had just hit the wrong button when replying to Brenda Beaupit's reqest for ideas on valentines for her beaux! The poem was a continuation of a thread in her article.
And on to your thought on Letterhead music, I am still trying to understand and educate myself as to all you folk! I don't have a full grasp yet but I am getting a pretty good idea of "WHO Y"ALL ARE"...once the grasp is there I would be happy to let the creative juices flow!
You see , My knowledge on pinstriping and hand lettering is nill. I came to this page because I would like to learn more of the "old" ways of graphics. Heck...y'all seem to be more creative than most graphics artist...and actually using your hands and not computers makes it "ART"..not a trade....that's why I am bringing my staff to our first Letterhead meet next month in OKlahoma....
When I get it all together....WATCH OUT!
