Just sharing....We had a very small gathering of some of the Central Illinois Letterheads today. We just got together to make Christmas presents, took a ride/tour of Pontiac on the city's trolley and had a good time just visiting. I made muffins for breakfast and we ordered pizzas for lunch. It was fun to see some faces we hadn't seen since this summer, we solved most of the world problems in one afternoon (RIGHT!) and just generally enjoyed each other. I sent the photo of the group to Barb so she could put it on here for me....I've TRIED to publish a picture to here, honest... I guess I need to try it again after the holidays. (THANKS in advance, Barb.)

I had a great time. I only wish we had been able to stay longer. What a cool place you have there!
Bill, thanks for all the HOK tips. Thank you for the warmth, kindness and hospitality by welcoming us all in your shop & sharing your knowledge, supplies, food & simple decency.
Jane, I can't help but think that once again, you've had a great deal to do with making things fall into place. Everyone had a good time on the tour, that was cool. Thanks for getting the pizza ordered. Great muffins & coffee too!
You two make a good team. Your kindness is very much appreciated & I'm looking forward to the fun in the hopper.

Good folks, good time. Kevin Collins was the closer. He and I spent a good hour (after the snow quit falling and he realized it wasn't going to be a hazardous trip home) listenin' to the blues cranked up real loud. We even turned the lights low to get the full effect. Just like a couple of little kids.
We're trying to get area letterhead folks interested in getting together every now and then for fun, fellowship and an exchange of knowledge. The interest in this area is pretty low though. It's a shame, because it's a shot in the arm to get with people who have similar interests. We didn't get much work done -- Christmas present wise, but it was fun and we had some full blown belly laughs. Other than Dave Parr, we're the only ones on the BB, so we did some recruiting there.

In case you want to know who people are.... Back row: Joe Diaz (Prairie Signs, Normal,IL), Dan Kearfott (Kearfott Graphix, Gibson City), Kevin Collins (Kevin Collins Designs, Normal), Mike Hall (friend of Dave Parr's-he bends neon, didn't catch for what company from Peoria)& Santa Bill. Front row: Me, Carol Kaufmann (Watseka Sign, Watseka IL), Shelbie Kearfott (Dan's daughter), Dave Parr (Hardin Signs, Peoria) and Ben Diaz (Prairie Signs, Normal). (And Shelbie is holding the infamous Heidi.) Our friend Bob Sear, the art teacher at Pontiac High, dropped by to say hi too. What a fun group! Did a lot of giggling and sharing...even learned a couple tricks!

Hey! I just wanted to throw my 2 cents worth in. . .what a great time! for those of you that don't know Jane & Bill you're missing it. they are 2 or the best people I have ever had the pleasure to know, & I've met plenty! what great hosts, I'm glad they took the time to put this deal together, I think we should make it an annual event! Next year I might even come prepared to work on a christmas present! As for getting together more regularly I'm all for it and there should be plenty of sign people in the area that could join us. I actually got out my brushes and attempted to letter with them! In the past 10 years I could count on my fingers how many times I've lettered, what a waste of talent. It really felt good I can't wait for the next customer to come in so I can sell him something hand lettered! Have a Merry Christmas Ya'll!
Dan
