Ceasers are really popular here, and there's lots of different secret recipies.
Wet the top of the glass with lemon juice, and dip it in plain salt, or celery salt, whatever your preference.
add ice, 1 oz vodka and top with clamato juice (sounds gross I know!) Add a dash of tobasco, a couple dashes of worchestershire, and a squeeze of lemon. Garnish with a celery stalk, or better yet a dill pickle spear or a picked asparagus (the best)
Yummy!

You have to use Clamato! Thats a combo of clam and tomato juice in case some are wondering. Actually a couple of the best ceasars I've had were in Washington, just over the border - one used a huge pickled bean for garnish and the other had a large green pepper (jalepeno I think)floating in it. I believe it is a Canuk thing though. Most places in the US don't know what you are talking about if you ask for one of them. When we were in Minnesota I asked if they knew how to make Ceasers and the bartender gave me this look as if I was daft, and said of course we do. When our order came everyone got a drink 'cept me - I got a Salad

My first reaction when seeing this post was Why wouldn't you call your brother and ask him how to make a Caesar salad? hahahahaha...
I've bartended a lot and I've never heard of one. Now I'll have something to add to my repetoire in case we move up north someplace.

Having never had a Bloddy mary, because it wasn't a 'sweet' drink...I wouldn't have tried it if someone hadn't bought it for me (I think it was Tim..?)
I'll try most anything if I don't have to pay for it!
I think there was celery salt on the rim,, and there was a spicy bean in it...I bought a big jar of them before going home, btw.....
I could have found the recipe online, but asking here is way more fun!

I think the brand of Clamato juice is important. I've always preferred Mott's brand. I just got back from Hawaii last night. While there, I tried using another brand, and it just wasn't the same.
I'd buy you another at the next meet too! And I guess you wont be dissappointed with the picked beans I got you for christmas, whew! Oops!, dont read this until christmas.....
