I've been asked to appraise this sign for the Motorcycle Museum. The sign is 5X8, double sided, vacuformed letters, and one of a kind, (the side mount makes it a oddball). It was never used so it is in excellent shape.
I have a guess on what its worth, but, I am not that familiar with lighted stuff. So any (better), educated guess's out there?
Thanks!

call that collector guy on HGTV!!!!!!hehehehe. seriously....the history of the brand, the collectability of the sign, and who would buy it all are factors for getting a price of its present worth. as for what it cost when it was made is probably closer to what you need. how big is it? how good are the electric parts, and if its in that good a shape does it have a tag or sticker who made it? some thing that size and detail shouldnt be hard to track back to who built it.

I assume this is probably for insurance purposes so charge for your time! It's worth as much as you can get for it. Since the company is no longer in business and no one else, other than a museum, may want it, I feel it is worth about 25¢ a pound. Seriously though, I would just treat it as a quote. The insured value would be the value to make a new one.
Havin' fun,
