This little guy is in the front of our house, he's 18 feet tall and quite noticable from the road, specially at night.
He was a true family effort, we built it in the workshop and then carried it to the house and stood it up and hung it on the house. This was a blast. What are you doing to your house this year?

that's cool, I like that ... 18', what's it made out of?
I had big ideas/plans for a few decorations I wanted to make this year (kinda like the MDO stuff John Deaton did last year ... or was it the year before) Just haven't had the time. Did get my lights up, now I don't have to worry about them again till June (hahaha)
Thanks for more ideas ... for what I probably wont get around to next year.

2. The people across the street have enough decorations on their place to light up 5 city blocks, so there's no need for me to put in the effort.
3. Last Christmas Day I was in Jamaica, and asked the locals if they celebrated Christmas there (there weren't any decorations outside anywhere to be seen like there is all over the US). They said it's their biggest holiday of the year. Kinda reinforces the fact you don't need all that stuff, although I do know it's nice to have on occassion.

We have a wrap around veranda on the house and on the weekend I hung fake evergreen swags between each post, rail height. Looks cool. Needs more though, red bows between them? Not sure yet.
I really want some icicle lights one day, to date we have red red white, red red white...
Cody tells me nearly every day we need a Christmas tree outside like other people. I guess that means we need lights on some trees out there. We have such a huge yard, we could never have enough to make it feel done I'm afraid.
I also sprayed icicle spray on all the windows inside the house. It crystalizes and looks like patterned ice. I spray it around the perimiter of the windows so we can still see out but it looks very cccold out there. It's very realistic! You feel like putting on an extra blanket and cranking up the woodstove!
Sign related, Adrienne Morgan at one time painted a wonderful cow mural for our barn on a 4x8. I plan to make some santa hats out of ? and put one on each cow.
