I spoke with Kevin Betz today and he filled me in on the latest. The meet will be at the Masonic Temple in Detroit. At the same time that the meet is taking place, there will be an art fair going on across the street.
So far we know that a mural will be going up on a outside wall of the Masonic Temple. The theme for the meet will be 1930's. Kevin said that he was looking for someone that might have an old 1930's panel truck, delivery truck, etc. I have a customer that has over 100 antique cars like Packard's, Dusenburg's, Auburn, etc. I placed a call to him today and got his caretaker and let him know that we were going to be looking for something to pinstripe. He is going to pass the message on. This gentleman may not have something now but he could by next year.
Kevin said that there will be seminars and demonstrations going on. In fact his dad, Wild Bill Betz will be doing one on glass gilding. He told me of other names but I didn't reconize them (as I am too new to this movement).
I left my notes at the shop so I can't remember what else he told me. We will be meeting again in late Dec. or early Jan. for the next updates. Mark you calendars. This ought to be great.

Wild Bill is a Lettrehead legend! I never laughed as hard as when he pushed a hotel "butler" in the pool during a letterhead swim party during the "85 Chicago international. If many other L'head vets (from the old days) are in attendance, this meet should be a great one.

sounds fun, and close! Every year there is a superb classic car show at Stan Hewitt's estate on Father's Day. There are some "classy!" vintage cars there, including Bentley's and Studies (avante's and starlight coupes), Fords, the gammut! I bet they would love to connect with you to have some of their cars honored, well, they aren't all Buckeyes, so it will be safe in Michigan. (You may find some resources there.)

He is working on that now. He is also trying to arrange to have some meals catered in exchange for work or signs done for that business.
I forgot to mention that campers and motorhomes can camp in the parking lot if they want. I am glad that I am within driving distance. I slept in the back of a pickup truck in theparking lot at the Michiga State Fairgrounds. Don't want to do that one again-gettin too old for roughing it that much.
