Do you space the tracks the exact height of the letter {full height of the plastic} or do you space them closer so that they "bow out" slightly.

They are 6'' letters and the full height of the plastic is 6.75''. I don't want them blowing out.
Thanks

It all depends on the type of letters that you are using!

Thin flimsy ones....should just fit in the slot...without bowing (otherwise they look like crap)

Thick substrate type....track should be the height of the subsrtate,, plus,, the height of the bottom lip (so you can get them in the track.)

How they fit in the track depends on how and who will change them. Will the sign be up in the air? Will they need a letter changing contraption with a suction cup to change them? I think it's called an arm. If that's the case, then some play will be necessary to get the letters in place.

Check the track and make sure the wider side is on top. The letters slide up under the wide track and then down in the short track; with the top of the letter caught under the top edge of track. The best way to ensure best fit is to measure with a letter shoved up in the top track and leave about an eighth inch or less above the
lower track. It would be best to use an actual letter or two when attaching the track. That way you'll know you got it right. (if you position the letter properly)
Lastly, get a helper. You'll need more than two hands.
