I'm working away here trying to finish a report on Ray Chapman's Lonestar Meet. As soon as that is posted, I can get back to the slideshow of Bill Riedel's Portraits.

I've had those bookmarked for a while,(since you posted them before.) His work is so inspiring. I have learned a lot just by looking at them from time to time.

Thanks, Steve! My favorite is the Cobalt Club...gotta love that Deco stuff. And Wishes...very Mucha-esque. Altho each one is special in its own right. Gary is one of the best around. And if you want to listen, he will tell you how it is done. One of his secrets is that he never stops learning. He is constantly experimenting with new ideas and design trends.
And on top of all that, he is just one swell guy.
Make a trip to Bloomington and Nashville and you will never be the same again. I know, I've been there.

Doesn't Gary sell his own paint? I remember seeing something like this, and I'd be interested for an upcoming project. It's hard to find latex paint with those deep dark colors, like the ones he uses.

Yes, Gary sells Rhino Paint, his own line of paints. It is a complete waterbased system and he is definately an authority on tips to using it. We do alot of waterbase work and have tried the paint....VERY nice stuff! He also carries brushed to work with waterbase paints. He sent us a price list and color chart and tips & tricks sheet to working with acrylic paints. If you would like his phone I bet it is the search database for letterheads or e-mail me and I will send it to you. Like Ray says, there isn't a nicer example of a true letterhead. He will tell you anything you want to know.

Not only does he sell the paint and brushes, but a long list of other stuff related to latex paints, plus a technical guide to help.
He's the only source I know of that sells those deep colors that he is famous for.
I'm going to be back there in June for some more inspiration. Hopefully, Gary will cook me another one of those gormet meals. Walking through his house is like being in an art gallery.
