I have to letter a fire truck that is going to Russia and I have a digital picture to work from for the text and some of the characters are nothing I've seen before. Anyone have any suggetions where I might locate a Russian font? I've only posted pictures on here probably twice in 3 or 4 years and I still don't have the hang of it, or I'd post the picture of what I'm looking for.

Hi Kurt,
try this link http://babel.uoregon.edu/yamada/fonts/russian.html

I found it by going to Google and searching for Russian font. Does that help?

Does www.logotypes.ru have anything like that? It is Russian site so I would think it would have Russian alphabets but I don't know.

Wow,

Good service out of my fellow Letterheads. I got personal e-mails, replies back to the original post, etc. Thank You! Now, I have a few of the Ruskie fonts loaded, but the next question... I've only had to type in our 26 letters of the alphabet and the numbers of course. How do I access these letters that aren't on my keyboard? Like a backwards N and R? Next mystery to solve!

Once you have the font installed, open "Character Map" and scroll through it. You may find what you are looking for.

You may see the character and a code such as Alt+0241. On my system, I must have NumLock engaged and use the numeric keypad to get the characters to work.

I keep Character Map on my desktop so that it is easily accessible. You can also click on the letter in Character Map and cut and paste it out of the window.

also search the web for "Cyrillic" fonts. that's the proper name for those typestyles. there are a few fonts floating around for free. we set up OEM parts (Warning labels, etc.) for one of our customers in Russian and it does have some neat characters. like mentioned use the windows character map to see the key combo to get the characters you need.

Mission accomplished. Through the tips provided by all of you, I managed to figure out the character map and imported all of the letters needed, and that's all I need to do now is add the shadow and finish up. Thanks again all.
