Apart from our Xmas cut-out Santas and stuff ... already over the $5,000 mark this year, we a starting our regular customer"s Xmas windows. What I like is the amount of "other sign business" you pick up on the way!

"DUCKETTE" Just got back from South Florida(Palmpano Beach) Where she says a large amount of holiday splashes are ALREADY done! Seems they get the biggest bang for thier buck by using the term"SEASONS GREETINGS" Here in the Birmingham Alabama area. They wait until (AFTER)Thanksgiving to start. about a 2week window of advertising on thier part that they are satisfied with. As my customers are intent with putting CHRIST back into Christmas the amount charged are minimal compared to the IMPACT made. When my 10% is given back via missionary minded church. The remaining 90% are "PROFITS" more than just for myself. The self satisfaction of doing something worth while in my life is the very reason I was given this talent. I ALWAYS look forward to this time of year. (talk about HAPPY BRUSHES!).........

If I'm not already in full swing on windows by the week of Thanksgiving I'm sweatin' bullets!!!
Just got home from painting in Sacramento...had a wonderful visit with Mike and Deb Pulskamp there too, enjoyed thier warm hospitality and comfy guestroom, BTW...
I won't pull out my brush for less than $150... Car dealerships are $350 min...today's Ford dealership in Sacto was $650, I never use the sq foot pricing, I know how long a job will take me for the size window and try to get at least $50 an hour.

i use the sq. ft figures for an idea of how to get them...to understand what the will get for that amount of money. most dealerships have 8' x 5' windows....and mostly the whole front of the building!!! so to do a window 4 x 8 for $100 is fair. NOW say this dealer wants 5- 5 foot wide windows lettered, i may not go to the full 8 ft. height but i will charge him $100 per 5 foot wide window.....so a 25 ft long window will be $500.....30 ft will be $600 and so on. if i charged by the hour for this stuff i wouldnt make any money cause i dont wana spend any more then an hour on a 4x8 area.
