The problem seems to arrive from viewing the cached page instead of a new one every time.
If you would like to turn the IM feature off, go to the IM link. It's the last link in a series of small links you will find in the top, right of your screen under the Auction logo. Click on it.
You'll see a box that says Do not let anyone IM me. Select that option. Now here's the important part! Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the IM Now button.

usually caused by using the back button to go back to a previous page. It happens on many BBs with IM's or PM's operating. not just here

Got 2 popups when I signed on today - one from Jill and one from Steve - so used to quickly clicking off popups - was surprised and happy to see them. IM away Jill!

I urge Barb to incorporate a new feature in the pop-ups. A Mexican Jumping Bean feature to keep them hopping all over the screen. Reading would then become a real "FUN" challenge! Particularly try ing to click on the box to delete it!

I got a Jillibeans Pop Up today and I was so happy for myself! I'm in-clue-did!!!!

C'mon, really? I've gotten maybe three in the past two weeks during this worn out discussion. I am not crazy about pop-ups either, but, every now and then it's ok. Especially when they're not trying to sell me somthing. Perhaps a slight exaggeration?

WELL BOB....HAVEN'T POPPED YA SINCE YOU WHINED ABOUT IT WAY BACK WHEN! GET OVER IT. But To Everyone Else...Glad to put a smile on your faces. You do the same for me. To me, an IM is like a "Hi!" (or a moon) across a crowded room at a meet. I do it to say "Hey! Glad you're here! How are ya?" And I almost stopped doing it after this innane post. As usual, YOU PEOPLE DON'T LISTEN!! Get over hearing yourselves! I'm not complaining about getting A popup from Jill or anybody else. It's very nice. BUT.....when they keep popping up every few seconds for time immemorial, that's TOO MUCH! No offense to YOU Jillbeans, or to anybody else. Maybe it's a glitch in my software doing this, I HAVE NO IDEA! The whole post started out as a "what do I do"-type comment, and everyone does what they always do.....SPOUT OFF about what THEY want to hear! It's CRAP like this that gives this BB (what comes accross as) an elitist group. Perhaps some of you should try to learn to read first, before you kill the messenger!

i have had the exact same experience as Bob and boy it is a pain. you can't really do anything since you know in a matter of seconds the pop up is coming. i have followed the advice of saying don't let anyone IM me in the options box. so sorry if you have tried

The only problem I have with SillyJilly's pop-ups are that I can't remember what all she said by time I get the screen to IM her back. Other than that, they usually make me laugh my ass off.

its 1 am and iam on the computer and i go to letterhead page....i GET JILL BEAN IM, np, but this stuf is slow......she sent it a 6pm.....seems i always get em 4-12 hours later....must be cause im near alablama. hehehehehe for jill.... bein from alabama here in north fla, is similar to younze in pa. talkin bout them "hoopies/hillbillies" from west virginia!!!!!
