I've had a heck of a time getting scraps to track well in my plotter. Vinyl on the roll, with the rollers square the the plotter, I have no problem.
The other day I cut a peice or ruled paper and taped it square to the plotter, below the cutting area, so that when the vinyl was hanging over the paper, I just line up the edge of the vinyl to the ruled paper and it tracks great first time.
