I have the Weber double. I bought the 36". Wish it was a 24". I like the way it works though.

John,

I have a Double. I only use the top holder for storage as there are problems encountered when pulling the tape over the bottom roll. It can cause some unexpected entanglements.

The system is changable, in that if you wanted to put on a 4' wide roll, all you would need to do is get a larger/rather longer bar and drill a hole in one end of the bar, which sets over a peg to keep the bar from rotating.

I even redrilled my bar with new holes to allow for different size tables. The two ends can be moved as wide as you want or as narrow as you want, as long as the bar is long enough and a new hole is drilled to align with the peg.

However, I am having great results using the large square plastic vinyl core end protectors that come with a 24" x 50 yard roll of vinyl. Any size roll of application tape can be inserted between these and then we take a screw gun and screw them down to the table. When the application tape runs out, we have to unscrew one of the core holders and slip on the next roll of tape and screw it back down.

I like screwing around! [Smile]

I have the double, and keep it stocked with a 48" roll on top, a 30" alongside a 15" below.

You need to be cardful using the top roll, but not unduly so.

I think it's a great set up.

I made one for just a few bucks and it works great! Made from 3/4" AC plywood, a 1" dowel and 2 plastic core supports. I use spring clamps to hold it to the table.

I can send photos of it or post them here if possible.

Dave Draper is "right on the money" with his comment in his first paragraph.

I have the double 24" too, and he's right...generally works well, but pulling mask off the upper bar over rolls stored on the lower can cause some real problems.

I think the upper bar should have been located higher in relationship to the lower. My 2 cents.

I have a single 48" that works great for me. I keep a 20" and 24" on the bar usually. It only takes seconds to switch rolls out. I have had mine for several years and wouldn't take anything for it.
It makes taping a breeze for anyone.

We built our own, very inexpensively on both ends of our weed table. Check out page 12, SignCraft issue No. 129, Mar.Apr. 2003 in the tips and tricks.
