Things are really happening at our West Edmonton Mall job now, or at least it appears that way! It's been a long haul, being away from home this long!
As we strive to work on all the many details the pressure is mounting once more. The biggest source of stress is the scheduling, as much of the remaining work is high and can only be accessed when the park is closed for public safety reasons. But the snorkel lifts are in high demand by everyone here as the park gets ready for the busy Christmas season.
I managed to finish the last of the high welding yesterday before the park opened. Today was a very productive day as we mudded two major posts... two and a half more to go! And the last completed feature was craned and bolted into place today as well!
The drywallers are supposed to finish prepping the last third of the mural wall tomorrow morning and it's supposed to be primed before the mall work crew goes home tomorrow, making it ready for us to paint on Sunday (at last!).
Rebecca and Carla are putting the finish paint coats on the features as fast as we can make them ready. The color makes the whole project come alive!!! It's like magic!
Tomorrow I'm scheduled to have a fitch in my hand all day as I put the lettering on all the signs we've built.
As we finish each task, more and more of our tools go back into the tool trailer and excess building materials are removed as well, making our work site seem strangely empty and much more finished in a hurry.
Going home now feels immenent at last, even though it's still six days away!
Six days and counting!!!

Dan, glad to see you are almost finished with the project. You and your crew really rock on those jobs! I bet you can't wait to get home and back to finishing that new shop and studio.
