Hey All
I have a request to do the "Nutty Club" on some windows. Now, i have already checked out the two logo sites, and I was wondering if anyone had it on file. I am willing to pay an art fee for it. I have already asked some people in the company for a good vector file, but they have only jpgs and tiffs.
If anyone wants to see the logo itself here it is
http://www.nuttyclub.ca/candmanmed.jpg

( I have not done, so I hope that it works.
[Thanks] in advance.

It's insane that a corporation wouldn't have it's own art in vector format. You might not be asking the right department. Cool retro graphic though - is that some old company or something new? The art had to come from somewhere.

Is it that you don't have time to vectorize it or don't know how? Tons of people on this board probably use the same vector program you do if you had some specific questions about how to approach it. Just guessing in round numbers, it could take up to 3 hours to convert cleanly, then the corporation would have it forever.

[Dunno] Apparently all they have is a bitmap image. And, no, this company is not a very large corporation from what I understand. It is really a older business that enjoys the whole candy making process.
No, I do know how to vectorize the logo, my boss actually suggested to me that I try out that "letterheads" site and see if I can get the logo from somebody. Just right now I am super busy, and if I could get the logo, make my job a little easier!
I am going to start the vectorizing process soon.
Thanks, though!

Hey Jeff

How are things in Calgary. I am not terribly busy all the time and could do some of the vectorizing of artwork for you if we can agree to acceptable terms.

that "letterheads" site
Funny. Makes me wonder how the rest of the sign world really views the letterheads group...Yes, we are a resource, but the concept is if you get help here or learn something, you have to pass it on. Over and over and over, lol.

So I guess nobody has the logo already vectorized from some past run-in with "Nutty Club". It was worth a shot. What about their former sign provider, or whatever printer's they have used in the past. Out of curiosity, I tried to look up that product on the internet with very few references, and no website. I guess they are some kind of vintage candymaker with very small market. Stil, some vendor somewhere must have that artwork.

If nothing else, you've gotten one offer to assist. I should say, my earlier comment about the conversion taking up to 3 hours could be off. It could take even longer if one were to get extremely fussy with the small details, or a slightly 'dirty' job could be done quicker. Either way, one thing that would help is the biggest, clearest copy of the artwork you can get. For kicks, I ran the small graphic through Corel's TRACE utility - this in NOT the way to vectorize this raggedy art. To be done properly, it needs to be totally re-inked from scratch and scanned and cleaned up node by node if you ever hope to cut it on a plotter. $300 to $500 in art time is a fair estimate of it's value. Good luck.

What about having an Edge Print made and decal cut it.
