Happy weekend everyone, it's finally getting chilly in Western NY. Here's a sketch for your scrutiny. Any and all comments welcome...
This 24" tall freestanding sign is going to be sitting on the floor next to one of two diningrooms (depending on the number of guests). It will have a small panel to cover the "make yourself at home" copy for weekends when the diningrooms are open to the public. The panel will read "Our hostess will show you to your table". The Inn is upscale country.

I like the border and I like the bottom half...the waitress and the COUNTRY STYLE font strike me as "diner-esque" as opposed to upscale B&B.
Also, the HOSPITALITY font looks a little modern for country inn.
Don't mean to be critical but you did want feedback, right???

I don't know, everytime I think of country style cookin, I think a slighly overwieght older woman, that woman on that sign is HOT!!! I like the sign, but it does look like an upside down shield, the "Hospitality" copy and "Make Yourself at Home" look like the same typface, but Hopitality looks stretch, which is kind of a typography no-no, make them the same horizontal scale, it will look lees computerized. Nice sign though.

Much obliged ya'll... It's nice to get the different perspectives, it helps to look at things in ways I might not have. I changed the hospitality font to Chicago modern which is a little more polished. It's a little art deco-ish which looks good with the waitress. Thanks.....

The illustration (clip art?) and the script name are both nice, but (stacked together) they compete for attention. A client/ projects name ALWAYS must to be easy to read - if's a sign. Perhaps you could reduce the art and place it above the copy. There seems to be enough room.
And the small bottom copy doesn' t read as white on yellow. Id' say loose the outline and do it in black, unless you want it to be unreadable.

Jerry, In this case I traded for a 3 night stay over Valentines Day weekend (18th anniversary). Considering their rates, I did pretty good on this one. This will be a great suprise for my wife after 17 years of wine and cheese and the kids overnight at grandma's.
