Bought the Mega Vector Art collection from a sign shop that has gone out of business. They no longer had the manual (place was a mess), but I figured I could search through the clip art using a thumbnail program. This works, sort of; but would be great to have a copy of the printed manual. Anyone own this collection and would be willing to make me a copy? Thanks!

I own the collection and wanted to make a copy of the catagog for home, but found it would be too much of a hassle two take the spiral bound apart and have it copied.

Too much trouble also to just keep turning pages one at a time and manually press copy hundreds of times.

Best way is contact VectorArt directly and they will sell you just the catalog.

Jerry,
guess you would rather I keep my thoughts to myself, but since we both know that ain't gonna happen I'll just dampen your day again with my opinions... IMO, I don't believe for a minute that the book just got lost. Maybe it was lent to a client, but maybe it was sold w/ a set of blank discs. Sure someone here might be willing to go copying 200 pages from a book they paid $150 - $200 for, but if so, whoever does is violating their copyright agreement. Is it really hurting Roland? I guess that depends on weather or not there was a copied set of discs which we will never know.

I see you come on here regularly looking for a HEMI logo, or Chevy 4X4, Silverado.... or the Jester font... maybe this stuff just shows up for the asking... & when someone else wants something handed out, here you are to their defense... funny I don't remember you helping out all that much around here. I did find this little gem from one of your posts though...

Maybe you could have a "Resident" password to get on to the site as does Art Today. Then you could get only who you want in your good old neighborhood. Like a gated community with a guard at the entrance. Would put an end to all of us parasites on your world. Everytime I was about to send my $50.00 something like this happens, and I decide to wait and see if things get friendlier. If you don't want us-shut the door completely.
The door is made of glass dude... so remember when you are out there looking in & stirring up s#!+

The catalogue is available from Vector for the sum of $100.00 regardless of what happened. You do have to be the original buyer, though. I seem to remember the woman I talked to saying something about having the original discs or something.

Sheesh, I am having a "Burns" moment and I aint even that old!

I looked into it because we have two design stations and wanted to have the extra to save the 6 steps over to the other station... LOL! Hey, I'm lazy... I admit it. [Smile]

Thanks, Bruce. They are the original disks. I'll contact them and see what they can do. $100.00 plus what I paid for the disks is still a good deal.

Why does looking for a manual automatically imply some one is being a THEEF. I imagine if I asked for a Design Art file or manual, or a Cocut manual I'd have to endure some kind of grief ..

When some of my stuff was taken from my posession a few years ago all i got back was some CD's. Nope, no manuals or books... It was awfull agravating to hear the smear and allegations that I had some BOOTLEGGED CD's....

I should have left my first simple comment at that... maybe the former owner of the mega collection lost his book... maybe he sold it... I suggested the possibility that he (the former owner) had sold it to someone. thats it... that was my comment... yeah maybe I should have kept fingers off the keyboard, BUT I did not suggest in any way that Tim had done anything wrong. His thread got dragged to aplace it never needed to & yes, I realize I contributed to that.

Sorry Tim. If you can get a book from Roland for $100... great, but you probably could have figured that out yourself... if someone here would have copied all 246 pages for you... hey that would have been even cooler... but that didn't happen (as far as I know) & if it did, the person who did it may have wanted to consider the points I was hinting at, which is why I posted my first comment.

now I'm accused of calling him a thief, gee Curtis, I'm shocked to hear you encountered some unfair "allegations" here in Letterville [Smile]

Too many people on this BB seem to jump to conclusions and accuse people of numerous things. I must admit I did have the thought running through my mind that perhaps this guy has purchased a set of bootleg CD's or better yet he got the originals and the previous owner got to keep his backup copies and lied about losing the manual. Regardless of the actual conditions, maybe sometimes we should keep our opinions to ourselves being that we didnt get all the relevant information.
I do agree I had similar thoughts Doug, but maybe next time you will bite your tongue as I do often, (its a bloody mess) and sit back see where the thread takes its next turne and then if you feel you need to comment maybe then its alright.

ie: "Its better to be thought a fool than to remove all doubt"

I think I might have just removed all doubt, but IM sorry, I am tired of all the bickering. I have two people I consider friends in this business that couldnt even sit in the same room without killing each other because of comments made in this forum about each other and the two of them have never met and also know very little about each other

Bottom line... Think before you get diarrhea of the mouth. Sometimes saying nothing at all is the best way to go. If you have nothing good to say then way say anything?

and Now I will put on my fireproof suit and prepare the sprinkler system for the flamefest

I had no idea that the book had that many pages! And, yes, I once lent out my font book from my Casmate software, and never got it back. Had to buy a new one (will never do that again). And David, thanks for your comment as well. [Smile]
