I do a lot of vinyl work so im not an expert in the paint department and this is gonna sound like a dumb question to alot of you but ill ask anyway
I also do handcarved gold leaf signs and Ive found Ronan dark green is not dark enough to make the gold leaf pop. in the past Ive added black to darken it is this the best way to do this. does anyone know of a brand that makes a darker green out of the can.

Right there with Monte. As long as you keep it consistant you're all set.
Just as a thought, instead of black, you can add a little dark blue to deepen the color with out it dulling in some cases. Some green colors tend to grey out a bit when black is added, but the blue can keep some of the brilliance to it.
Hope this helps... Rapid

oil based paints will all mix, latex paints will mix with latex paint. back in the days of lacquer car paint, you didnt want to mix lacquer with enamel....it made SNOT!!!!! hehehehe. also you cant mix latex and oil paint, but you can add latex mixing pigments to oil paint or acrylic paint colors to oil based paint.
