Yes, they make turntables, but I can't afford one right now... some of my oldies LP's collecting dust too...
albums I would love to have too....
Love Eric Clapton, too... Marshall Tucker, Allman Bros, Molly Hatchet, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Yes (Close to the Edge), Chicago, Muddy Waters, but also classical, and jazz ( like Milt Jackson, Chic Corea, Dave Brubeck, you know...) Anyone getting rid of albums?? or a used turntable! In a couple weeks maybe I'll have some money again (didn't forget you Steve and Barb too).

Yes Mark I can picture that. How about him dancing with the shop broom singing "Mona Lisa lost her smile, the painter's hands are trembling now." [Wink]

Speaking of records (real vinyl ones)
Several years ago my dad gave me a box full of them, when my back was not hurt I could barley pick it up. must be 150 or so in there.

When we moved I was going to sell them at a yard sale,so I looked thru the box to see what I had.

Tons of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, The Letterman, Sonny & Cher, Nat King Cole, Donna Summer, The Temptations.....and the list goes on and on and on. [Big Grin]

Needless to say, I decided not to sell them and they are safely stored away until I get a turntable

James,

My father was a HUGE Hearts of Space fan. He'd sit in his rosewood Eames lounge chair with all the lights down low and listen.

Between my albums and my father's I must have 3000. I have a good turntable but as I mentioned in a recent post, it took me some doing to find a receiever that has phono jacks. If you can find them, they are suoer expensive. I finally found a really good Onkyo for a semi-reasonable price. Then of course, the receiver was so good, I had to buy new speakers! I've been having a blast with it.

same old 200 CD player on shuffle mode. Right now, it happens to be the Robert Johnson collection Terry mentioned, but before the day is done it could be many of the above mentioned artists, (except Mr. Pickett has "stumped the band" here with several items outside my scope) Probably get some slim shady, mixed up with Ottmar Liebert, Gypsy Kings, Thelonius monk, insane clown posse, baba olatunji, or SRV
