This is for a friend. He has some large photographs, approx 22x28, that he wants to mount in a metal frame with glass face and masonite back with no mat. When he simply puts the picture in the frame, the picture has waves in it. When he glues the picture to the masonite with 3M 77, he still gets bubbles as if the picture is not sticking to the masonite.
Any of you picture framing experts have some advice on how to do this correctly? Thanks! Vic G

He's getting bubbles/buckles because the picture needs to expand but it's stuck to the backing board.
To properly mount a photo, the photo has to be mounted in a way that allows it to expand/contract, which means securing it by only one edge, or using those corner mounts where the picture just slips into place.
Here's a good site with some information and more links on photo mounting, as well as choosing the proper materials for the task to ensure long life of the framed material.
