Would like to expand my designs and routing capabilities by doing some raised prismatic letters on HDU. Or do they call them convex?. Have seen some nice gold leaf effect with this method. Have a shopbott & rams3d software for toolpaths. Do I use a high degree "v" bit or special fonts.

Gerber has a V carve option in their software that does the job with V bits. There is a similar capability in ArtCam.
I'm guessing that there are not many people here using Ram3D here. I think Danny Baronian has it. You might look him up if he's registered and send him an email.
As far as the angle of the bit, that is determined by the size and stroke of the letter you are cutting. We've used almost the full range of Gerber's V bits depending on the visual result we were trying to achieve. Vic G
