Will be bidding on a corrogated/riveted trailer vinyl lettering job. Is their a vinyl thats a cut above the Premium vinyl for rivets and horizontal corrogated surfaces. I've worked with the 3m scotchcal which is wonderful for that. But does that come in regular color rolls.

If youv'e have experience please share.

Matt

Hiya Matt.

Use 3M ControlTac Series 180C - Featuring 3M Comply Performance Technology.

ControlTac is the only product that 3M will recommend for use over corrugations and rivets, it features repositionable adhesive and "Comply" is amazing for fast, bubble-free application...can reduce installation time by up to 30%.

Ditto to above- comply/control-tac is expensive, but very good for horrible jobs like that! or if you want to change brands, Avery 900 series is very stretchy and stays put after heat setting it. Also expensive, but good.

Matt,
Oracal's 851 Premium Cast vinyl is ideal for high quality vehicle and fleet graphics. It's a conformable film especially suitable for application on uneven surfaces as well as on corrugations and rivets.
It also comes in 91 radiant colors and is ultra-thin:2 mil. Unrivaled minimum life rating: 8 years for colors; 10 years for black and white.
851 has just became available and I haven't had any experience applying over corrugations and rivets yet. Perhaps someone else can tell their experience. I use Oracal 751 calendared vinyl on most of my work. I am planning on using the 851 the next time I have a lot of rivets to deal with.
Go to www.Oracal.com to locate a distributor near you.
Good luck!
Judy
