Our second week (first full week) wraps here in Edmonton. We take Saturdays off as it's extra nuts to work in the theme park on Saturday. The noise level drives me crazy!
We had a very, very productive week with most of the welding and mesh work behind us. We started the fiberglass reinforced concrete today with three major pieces done and ready for paint next week.
My crew amazes me each day... cheerful and productive without any pushing from me. They are all experienced and this allows me to keep my own pace up on my own work. I love not having to babysit a crew!
I even took time to have lunch and schmooze a little with my boss today. Over the last 8 years he has become a good friend. His promotions and new jobs keep him busier than ever these days. But we took time to catch up a little over some great Chinese food today.
I'll try to take some pics of our progress next week and give you folks here a peek at the type of unusual job we have going on.
I miss Janis a great deal, but we talk daily. I LOOK FORWARD TO GOING HOME!
On the home front, Janis tells me our electricity finally got hooked up in the new shop. She reports that the shop is VERY BRIGHT and cheerful with the lights on at last. I'm sure looking forward to getting home to see it for myself.
So have a great weekend everybody!!! And I hope you had as productive week as we did here!

Glad to see you had a good week Dan. I'm sure the new shop will be welcoming you with open doors when you get back.
I've been feeling like you lately. It's been a pretty good week here too, except for this freaking rain, but I think it's finally over. I'm told that the rain makes the concrete footers set up slower which makes harder concrete. Even though I hate mornings, it's been kinda cool, waking up every morning and running to the kitchen window to see what (if any) work is being done on the shop today. Met with the electric company today, they have to move a pole, which has already been scheduled. Picked siding, shingels, door, garage door & french doors the other day. Ended up making some changes to the shop when the dirt work was done, which I think I'm gonna like a lot. Our hold-up right now is getting a mason free to lay the block. Seems, the contractor has 4 he uses and each is swamped with work right now. But I'm confident that will fall into place like everything else seems to have this week.

What week I have had. My husband and a partner bought a mobile home park, apartment, and some little offices in Centralia, WA. It's all on one lot. And of course I get to do the signs. I get to do what ever the heck I want.Oh Heaven, Oh joy! I get to really test the theory of how signs effect areas.

It's been a heck of a good week here too. New business, that came from unforseen referrals. Jobs also that were on hold, actually coming to fruition. Friendly relations with customers that actually care about their image.
Oh and yesterday I bought a brand new lawn mower and a spiffy new chain saw.
I'm finally "gaining some ground" in controlling my yard! Nettie
