Well here is the question.

The Bluenose(Ship)Logo is a Trade Mark of the Canadian Dime.

It is owned by Nova Scotia.(were the vessel was built)

There is another party marketing the symbol in its advertizing promos... Shirts/Cups/Etc.

They want the Logo(Trade Mark) waived

Now being a Federal Image and own by a (Provincal Government) ......This company thinks that it is Shareware property.

What is your take on this?
[Confused]

Well, if it's illegal - and somebody was to turn them in -- would they have to "Drop a Canadian Dime on them"?
[Dunno]

Why is it even in question? If the image is trademarked, then it's trademarked!

To me it seems like a silly thing to have trademarked.

Pull a dime out of your pocket,
and tell me if (You Designed This)
that it doesn't enfringe on your copyrights...?
Or any TradeMarking of it!
To many assume that (A Pizzing Calvin) is the Norm
[Confused]

So this one has gone to a higher level on design copy.

I've changed my mind. I agree that the Bluenose is a very recognizable image and would warrant limiting it's use for commercial gain.

Other than where the boat builder is concerned, I don't see how the Bluenose is a "design". Does the government hold the trademark on the design of the dime or any image of the Bluenose whatsoever. [Dunno]

Didn't you have a picture of the Bluenose on the Banner across Canada?

No!!!!!!!!

That image was a (Different Vessel) all together.

Hand Drawn!

I have over 50 of them in a "Vector Format" and not one of them is like the dime or anyone else designs...

I love Paper and Pens.
[Eek!]
