That game has been all over the media here lately. Big controversy over it, and some stores are starting to ban it. There is concern of the bad influences and messages it puts out there for kids.
Parker Bros. (I think they are the makers of Monopoly) have nothing to do with it. They're probably not too thrilled about it tho.

I don't see what the controversy is, it's obviously not a kid's game and toy retailers should know better than to make that available to anyone that walks into their store.
I mean, you dont find the XXX version of Twister at Toys R Us!

I know what you're saying Mike. I'm just reporting what I've been hearing on the news here about it. I really don't know much about the game itself. Heck, I've seen pretty wild stuff at Spencers in the mall, so I'm not real sure why they have targeted this game specifically. Could be a racial thing or because it involves drug culture mentality? I dunno. Just know it's causing a stir around these parts.

The issue is simply: "Who were the creators?" If it was a down with rap culture ghetto dude or dudette, then it is creative and artistic. If it was someone of the white society (insert cracker, redneck, honky if you wish. Then it's pure evil racism. There are only 2 points of view, right? No one could have created it to make money or to have a little fun, right? There have been previous knock off of monoply featuring drug dealing intoduced in the 70's and big US cities such as your hometown. They were not given much of a second thought. I see this as an issue, where you are baited to take one side or the other. Be careful.

there was an article in the paper earlier this week saying that Parker Brothers/Hasbro was planning to Sue the creators of this game saying it violates their copyrights to Monopoly. I havent heard anything more about it though.

I think the game is just funny... and that's what the creator intended.
It's not a racist game.. it's not about any one culture, it's about ALL the cultures you will find in the ghetto. A lot of people are jumping to their own conclusions without even cracking open the box to see what's inside... we're all equally "hated on" in this game!

To me...it's a stupid game for brain challenged people.
The racist slant is bogus though. I agree with Santo.
The thought and speech police are out to shut down our right to think, speak, and do what we want.
In fact, the Canadians in this forum can probably attest to the freedoms they have lost and are losing....such as the right to bear arms and protect your families, and the right to not have to do business with groups that are in direct conflict with your moral and ethical religious beliefs. You know, the printer that was forced to print some "gay" propoganda after he turned the gay guy down due to his religious beliefs?
It's a sad day when some small group with an unrelenting voice can force everybody to tow the line to their agenda.
I don't think this game is worth 2 cents...but I would defend anyones' right to produce it and sell it to the dopes willing to buy it.
I'm still trying to figure out why there is a Black History month here in the USA but no White History month?! These type of exclusionary holidays do nothing but drive a divisive wedge between the races....the same as with quotas.
When it becomes law that you can't say, do, or think anything that might offend anyone for any reason....then that's when you have truly lost your freedom and you might as well walk around with a staight jacket on.
My not-so-humble-opinion.
